Seeking transitional housing?

The New Orleans Women's Shelter offers transitional housing options based on a wait list policy. Resident stays range from weeks to a year. During your stay you are invited to join our employment and savings programs, attend free workshops and informal classes, and work one-on-one with an aid to help you meet your personal and professional goals.

How to apply for housing at NOWS:

Call 504-442-1683 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting              504-442-1683      end_of_the_skype_highlighting begin_of_the_skype_highlighting              504-442-1683      end_of_the_skype_highlighting

After a brief phone interview, you will be added to our wait list and/or referred to another program that may better suit your needs(e.g. more immediate housing, programs that accept teenage boys, etc.).

Once approved for our wait list, we will call you when a room becomes available. Wait list times vary from days to months. If you are still seeking transitional housing, we will schedule an intake interview to determine if the shelter if a good fit for you.

Upon accepting an invitation to join our house, you will be asked to move-in within 24 hours.
